EIGHT JACKRABBITS RECOGNIZED BY SUMMIT LEAGUE

The Summit League announced its annual awards and Women’s Soccer All-League Teams on Thursday, recognizing top players across the conference for their achievements this season. The awards were determined by votes from the conference’s coaching staff.

Kaycee Manding and Laney Murdzek represented South Dakota State on the First Team All-Summit League. This is Manding’s third straight season earning First Team honors, a testament to her impact as a senior defender. She helped SDSU achieve a league-leading 0.63 goals-against average and led the team with three assists, while logging 700 minutes and playing full matches in seven of eight league games. Murdzek also made the First Team for the second time in her career and marked her third all-conference honor. The midfielder tallied five points during league play with two goals and an assist.

Sophomore forward Katelyn Beulke was SDSU’s sole player on the All-Summit League Second Team. Beulke led the Jackrabbits in both points (7) and goals (3) across eight conference games, including two game-winning goals.

SDSU also had Senior Avery Murdzek and Junior Lauren Eckerle earn honorable mentions. Murdzek, a two-time all-conference player, started all eight league games and recorded 17 shots and an assist. Eckerle, previously named to the All-Newcomer Team in 2022, contributed two assists and played a key role in SDSU’s defensive success with a 0.63 goals-against average.

Three Jackrabbits were selected to the Summit League All-Newcomer Team: Adrianna Agbayani, Mia Bosch, and Solala Nasu. Agbayani scored two goals, including a game-winner, and recorded a 0.833 shots on goal percentage. Bosch led SDSU with 22 shots and logged an assist, while Nasu appeared in all conference games, providing key minutes from midfield.

The South Dakota State Jackrabbits advance to the 2024 Summit League Women’s Soccer Championship quarterfinals and will host South Dakota on Friday at Fishback Soccer Park. The victor will face Denver in the semifinal round on Nov. 7 in Fargo, N.D.
