Eagles star Brandon Graham finally has his MVP trophy

Even in the City of Brotherly Love, there are sometimes misses despite its beauty. We wouldn’t treat the Rocky Statue disrespectfully. There are moments when we question why a fictional boxer received a statue more than 30 years before Smoking Joe Frazier, even if that might as well be considered a national treasure. Then there are our Philadelphia Eagles and the occasional disregard they receive from the NFL.
Brandon Graham sets Eagles franchise record with 189 games played
It seems like the Birds are consistently overlooked in one manner or another. Heck, take a peek at the NFL season in 2022.

The Coach of the Year Award ought to have gone to Nick Sirianni. He wasn’t. They presented it to Brian Daboll, who finished third in the NFC East.

It was appropriate to name Haason Reddick the Defensive MVP. He wasn’t. That accolade went to Nick Bosa (who went sackless in the postseason).

In all honesty, we believe Jalen Hurts should have won MVP due of his injury-related absence. That takes us to our man, 55 himself, the creator of the greatest strip sack in Super Bowl history. Brandon Graham, the famous…

Following an Achilles tendon tear in 2021, B.G. was sidelined for all but two games. Upon his return in 2022, he recorded 11 sacks. It looks like that would have earned him the Comeback Player of the Year Award, am I right?

Nope! That accolade went to Geno Smith, who came back from being a lousy football player rather than an injury. Conspiracy theories are not something we usually believe in, but this almost convinced us to.

B.G. embodies all things Philadelphian. He makes us think of the statue of the Italian Stallion that has existed since the 1980s. He is the underdog. He is a champion like Joe Frazier and a Philadelphia icon. And at last, he’s an MVP now. See? Kind guys can go first. At last, one of the adopted sons of the City of Brotherly Love has earned himself a well-earned prize.

In addition to being named the Most Valuable Philadelphian, Brandon Graham and his spouse were awarded honorary doctorates.

This now gave us a smile. We could spend a lifetime discussing tales like these. With Fletcher Cox and Jason Kelce having finally put up their cleats, the only members of the Eagles’ Core Four left are Brandon Graham and Lane Johnson. The 2024 regular season serves as the farewell to 55, and things are going well so far. The 20th of May was his honor.

He received the MVP (Most Valuable Philadelphian) title from the Philadelphia Visitor Center. He and his wife Carlyne had been awarded honorary doctorates the day before. Take a moment to consider things. Which five individuals do you think deserve it more?

It’s possible that B.G. will never travel to Canton, Ohio to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. That’s alright! We will respect our own. He will undoubtedly be admitted to the Eagles Hall of Fame. The fans of the Birds have always held a special place for him.

First things come first. His fifteenth season is still something to celebrate. After that’s over, we’ll presumably debate for a while about whether he ought to have received at least three or four more Pro Bowl selections in addition to his 2020 mention.

Come on, in 2016 he was an All-Pro Second Team member. The seasons of 2017–2019, 2019–2022, and 2022 followed. I take it you saw him? For those efforts, how could he not earn a position on the roster?

Umm. Conspiracy ideas can have some merit.
