Eagle’s Head Coach Vic Fangio’s send powerful message to Howie Roseman after defensive losses
Vic Fangio has a message for Howie Roseman:
“Get me some players!”
The Eagles have lost key defensive players including Josh Sweat, Milton Williams, C.J. Gardner-Johnson, Darius Slay, Brandon Graham, Isaiah Rodgers, Oren Burks, and Avonte Maddox. These seven contributed a total of 3,861 defensive snaps during the Super Bowl-winning season, along with another 1,211 in the playoffs.
These changes were essential for the Eagles to have the flexibility to re-sign players like Jalen Carter, Reed Blankenship, and Cam Jurgens. However, it’s a significant loss for a defense that only allowed 17 points and 278 yards per game and excelled in the postseason.
John Clark of NBC Sports Philadelphia spoke with Fangio before the Phillies-Rockies game on Wednesday at Citizens Bank Park and asked him about the extensive changes on defense.
Fangio acknowledged the difficulty, saying, “It’s tough, but it’s part of the business. It gives me a chance to lean on Howie now; he needs to find replacements for these guys.”
