BREAKING: Nebraska Football lands defensive lineman from transfer portal over prominent programs

Nebraska Football Strengthens Defensive Line

Nebraska football added key depth to its defensive line on Tuesday by securing a commitment from East Tennessee State (ETSU) defensive lineman Jaylen George.

George confirmed his decision following an official visit to Lincoln on Monday and Tuesday. The 6-foot-2, 265-pound lineman will arrive in January with two seasons of eligibility remaining.

In the 2023 season, George appeared in 12 games as a redshirt sophomore at ETSU, recording 33 tackles, six tackles for loss, and half a sack, earning First Team All-SoCon honors.

Prior to choosing Nebraska, George had plans to visit Tulsa later in the week and had also received interest from Buffalo after entering the transfer portal.

George is expected to contribute at defensive end as the Huskers aim to rebuild their depth following the recent departure of multiple defensive linemen to the transfer portal.

He becomes Nebraska’s third transfer portal addition in December, joining long snapper Kevin Gallic and EDGE Williams Nwaneri.
