Cooper Flagg is preparing to take the next step in his basketball journey, and he’s widely expected to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft on June 25.

The dynamic forward had an outstanding freshman year at Duke, playing in 37 games and averaging 19.2 points per game. He helped lead the Blue Devils to the Final Four, where they came up just short in a close 70-67 loss to the Houston Cougars.

At 6-foot-9, Flagg made a significant impact both during the regular season and in the postseason, earning a host of top honors including National College Player of the Year, the Lute Olson Award, NABC Freshman of the Year, and the Julius Erving Award.

Duke celebrated his impressive one-year stint with a concise but meaningful message on social media Tuesday, highlighting their star forward and likely NBA lottery pick:

The post included a graphic highlighting the significant progress Flagg made with his three-point shooting over the course of the season. He hit just 25% from long range in the first half, but that number climbed to an impressive 47.2% in the second half. His accuracy on off-the-dribble threes also saw a big jump, rising from 22.2% early on to 50% later in the year.

In his final appearance in a Duke jersey, Flagg logged 36 minutes, knocked down 3-of-4 from beyond the arc, and posted 27 points along with seven rebounds.

One of his standout performances came in the Sweet 16 against Arizona, where he poured in 30 points, hitting 3-of-5 from three-point range, and led Duke to a thrilling 100-93 win over the Wildcats.

The NBA Draft lottery, scheduled for May 12, will provide more clarity on Flagg’s potential destination for the 2025-26 season. The Utah Jazz, Washington Wizards, and Charlotte Hornets each have a 14% chance of landing the No. 1 overall pick.
