The 20-year-old Brazilian left-back is reportedly close to finishing a medical to join the Ibrox team as Philippe Clement’s first summer signing, according to a post made on social media by transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

“It’s official—Rangers are about to finalize a deal to sign Brazilian LB Jefte, and here we go!” on Twitter (X), Romano stated.

You should be aware that Jefte is en route to finish his medical examinations and sign a contract to become a new member of the Rangers.

“As revealed in January, Scottish side prepared it all for the summer window.”

During the January transfer window, Jefte appeared to be headed to Ibrox, as reported by Rangers Review earlier this year. However, APOEL Nicosia blocked the move by refusing to release the midfielder from his then-current loan term with the Cypriot side.

£400,000 was reportedly paid in transfer fees at the time, but it’s unclear if that is still the case at this point.

This season, APOEL has utilized the Brazilian as an all-out left back, but the 20-year-old is also capable of playing as a left-sided wing-back.

Given that Borna Barasic and Ridvan Yilmaz’s futures have been under investigation in recent weeks and months, Jefte appears to be a strong fit for Philippe Clement’s left flank.
