Dolphins Cut Veteran Defensive Tackle On Saturday

Dolphins Face Critical Phase as Season Progresses

The Miami Dolphins are in a tough spot as the 2024 season reaches a crucial point. With a disappointing 2-6 record, every upcoming game is a must-win, leaving no room for mistakes.

In Week 10, they’ll take on the Los Angeles Rams in a challenging cross-country matchup on “Monday Night Football.”

Ahead of this game, Miami made a significant roster change that could hint at future adjustments.

“We have waived a defensive tackle,” the team announced on X.

This move likely aims to make space on the roster as the backup lineman had participated in all eight games this season. The open spot is probably for wide receiver River Cracraft, who is expected to come off injured reserve.

The waived player has had an interesting journey with the Dolphins. At just 25 years old, he made headlines last year as the first Alaska native to secure an active roster spot in almost a decade during training camp.

Originally joining Miami as an undrafted rookie, he played in four games before being moved to the practice squad last November. The Dolphins may follow a similar approach this time, hoping to keep him on the practice squad if he clears waivers.

During his college career at USC from 2017 to 2022, he showed great potential, racking up 74 total tackles, 3.5 sacks, four passes defended, and one forced fumble over 52 games.
