Derby County celebrated a triumphant return to the Championship with a 2-0 victory over Carlisle.
Max Bird’s amazing sixth-minute goal kickstarted the Rams’ journey, securing them a spot in the league. Paul Warne’s team only needed a draw to finish second, just behind champions Portsmouth.
It was a bittersweet farewell for Bird, who is moving to Bristol City in the summer after being part of Derby since he was 10. Despite some challenges from Carlisle, Collins sealed the victory for the Rams in the second half with a brilliant finish from Sonny Bradley’s assist.
The final whistle at Pride Park unleashed pure joy as ecstatic fans flooded the pitch to celebrate Derby’s first promotion since Billy Davies led them to the Premier League in 2007
