DeMarcus Cousins makes honnest admission after Pelicans-Kings trade

DeMarcus Cousins confesses to feeling ‘foolish’ following Pelicans-Kings trade

DeMarcus Cousins was once a formidable force in the NBA, known for being a tough opponent to face. However, those days are now behind him as he is no longer competing in the top basketball league globally. Despite this, he remains active in basketball, currently showcasing his skills overseas while he still has the opportunity.

The former Sacramento Kings and New Orleans Pelicans center recently made an appearance on the Podcast P with Paul George Presented by Wave Sports + Entertainment. During the podcast, he openly expressed his thoughts following the major trade that moved him from the Kings to the Pelicans right after the 2017 All-Star break.

“I felt incredibly foolish in that moment. It was like being in a scenario where I felt like everyone else was aware of what was happening except for me. All eyes were on me, and I was left wondering what just occurred. It was perplexing. I was uncertain about what to believe,” DeMarcus Cousins shared.

Cousins disclosed that he learned about the trade only after watching a video.

“Obviously, it caught me off guard. It was an unexpected turn of events. In that video moment, I had to psyche myself up and stay composed until we had a clear understanding of the situation. It was truly a disconcerting experience, P!”

It’s been more than five years since the trade, and it appears that the memory of it still affects DeMarcus Cousins, who has also had stints with the Denver Nuggets, Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets, Milwaukee Bucks, and Los Angeles Clippers.

At 33 years old, Cousins still has time on his side, leaving a glimmer of hope for a potential NBA comeback.
