Deion Sanders pitched to become Florida’s head coach and leave Colorado football behind

According to Steve Rivera of The Wright Way Network, we should “expect” Deion Sanders to depart from Colorado football in 2025 to take a position as head coach of the Florida Gators.

Indeed. Anticipate.

Rivera said, “One huge option (for Sanders) could be in the SEC,” and then noted, “A homecoming of sorts for college and NFL royalty.” Sanders would be the big name with D-1 credentials to turn around the University of Florida in Gainesville and bring back the Gators’ flagging dynasty.

Billy Napier has a ticking clock, and time is not on his side. Expect Deion Sanders in the Swamp by 2025, as he is primed to move on to bigger and better things in a location that is now home.”

How to get started…

It is absurd to think that Deion Sanders will leave Colorado football for Florida in 2025

Sanders’ “homecoming of sorts” at Florida would be inappropriate given that he played collegiate ball for Florida State. Sanders, it should be noted, is alumnus of Talladega College and is not a proud Nole. The fact that Coach Prime and FSU don’t agree is a well-known secret.

However, even from a distance, UF isn’t a homecoming. Fort Myers, the hometown of Sanders, is four hours’ journey from Gainesville. And once more, even though Sanders does not have a deep-seated animosity towards the rival Gators, there must be a part of him that does.

Oh, and Cormani McClain has committed to Florida, making her one of Sanders’ biggest headaches in 2023.

Sanders has expressed time and time again that he wants to stay in Boulder for five to ten years. It simply isn’t feasible for him to leave a program that has catered to every one of his desires in 2025 for an SEC job that is becoming less and less attractive by the year as the league gets stronger. Examples of this include hiring Warren Sapp despite his contentious past and even offering him his own CU course.
