TRADE: Dallas Stars acquire Chris Tanev from Calgary Flames for second-round pick, a conditional draft pick and a prospect
According to Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli, the Dallas Stars traded for defenseman Chris Tanev from the Calgary Flames by giving up a second-round pick, a prospect, and a conditional draft pick.

The 34-year-old Tanev, who has been a target of trade talks throughout the 2023-24 season, was highly anticipated to be traded before the March 8 NHL Trade Deadline.
In the current season, Tanev has recorded one goal and 13 assists, totaling 14 points in 56 games while maintaining an average of 19:50 of ice time. Over his 14 NHL seasons with the Flames and Vancouver Canucks, Tanev has accumulated 32 goals and 153 assists, amounting to 185 points in 773 career games.
