Dallas Cowboys Steal A Player From Washington Commanders Team Amid Injury

Dallas Cowboys Acquire Player from Washington Commanders Due to Injury

The Dallas Cowboys have lost a defensive lineman to the injured reserve and have signed a player from the Washington Commanders’ practice squad to fill the gap.

The Cowboys placed Jordan Phillips on IR following a wrist injury

The team had acquired Phillips from the Giants in August, and he recorded one tackle during the Cowboys’ Week 1 victory against the Cleveland Browns.

Phillips will be unavailable to play until at least October 27, when the Cowboys face the San Francisco 49ers.

The Cowboys have signed Carlos Watkins from the Commanders

According to the statement, the team has signed Carlos Watkins from the Commanders’ practice squad.

Watkins should be a well-known name for Cowboys fans, as he played for Dallas during the 2021 and 2022 seasons. In 2021, he had a standout year with 32 tackles and a pick 6, which explains his connection to Dan Quinn as the season begins.

Now 30 years old, Watkins has played eight seasons in the NFL, starting in 37 games and participating in 72. His career stats include six sacks, 139 tackles, and one forced fumble.

Watkins was selected by the Houston Texans in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft.
