Dabo Swinney and The Clemson Tigers faced disappointing transfer news on Monday
Head coach Dabo Swinney is about to lose a former four-star recruit to the transfer portal following Clemson’s spring game on April 5. Despite successfully retaining most of their talent after last season’s ACC championship and College Football Playoff appearance, the Tigers have already seen six players transfer out while adding three new recruits. With the upcoming spring transfer window (April 16-25) and the conclusion of spring practices, it’s anticipated that some contributors will depart. The first to announce his move is second-year cornerback Tavoy Feagin, who has decided to enter the portal

Feagin, who stands 6 feet tall and weighs 180 pounds, joined Clemson as the 25th ranked cornerback in the 2024 recruiting class, according to 247Sports composite rankings. He is from Tampa, Florida, and attended Carrollwood Day High School. As a true freshman last season, he was lower on the depth chart and ended up redshirting after appearing in two games and playing a total of 11 snaps. The former Under Armour All-American has four years of eligibility left.

Losing players is always difficult, especially when it happens after the spring season. Nevertheless, Clemson and new defensive coordinator Tom Allen still have a strong trio at the position. Junior Avieon Terrell leads the group after receiving Second-Team All-ACC recognition last season. Senior Jeadyn Lukus returns after a breakout year, starting 10 games. Additionally, Ashton Hampton participated in all 14 games as a true freshman in 2024. Clemson is set to begin the 2025 season at home against LSU on August 30
