
Former Indiana Hoosiers and Texas Longhorns cornerback Jamier Johnson has entered the transfer portal after leaving the IU program late last month.
The new of Johnson transferring comes from On3’s Pete Nakos, the former four-star and Texas transfer had 35 tackles and an interception this season for the Hoosiers.
According to Pro Football Focus, he gave up 34 catches for 351 yards on 51 targets. That made Johnson the lowest overall coverage grade among Indiana’s starters at cornerback.

Prior to his two seasons at Indiana, Johnson spent two seasons with the Texas Longhorns program appearing in 17 games and recording seven tackles and one pass break-up in his time in Austin.
Indiana added Pitt starting corner Ryland Gandy and Northern Illinois starter Amariyun Knighten via the transfer portal to help beef up there secondary for the 2025 season.
Indiana also added highly rated recruits at cornerback for the 2025 class including Jaylen Bell, Seaonta Stewart Jr, and Zacharey Smith. The Hoosiers also bring back a loaded secondary room including 2024 All-American D’Angelo Ponds with Devan Boykin, Jah’Jah Boyd, Dontrae Henderson and Josh Philostin to round out the cornerback room.
The Hoosiers spring football game will be at noon April 19 inside Memorial Stadium in Bloomington.
