Pirates Announce Signing Of Talented star player

East Carolina Men’s Basketball has exciting news to share! On Friday morning, the team officially announced the signing of forward Reid Cason, a promising talent from Kingston, Oklahoma.

Cason had an outstanding senior year at Kingston High School, where he showcased his skills by averaging a remarkable double-double: 23 points and 12 rebounds per game. His contributions didn’t stop there; he also averaged four assists and three blocks per game, proving to be a versatile player on both ends of the court. Over his high school career, Cason earned accolades as a Lake Country All-Conference selection all four years and was recognized as the Defensive Player of the Year twice. Impressively, he accumulated over 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds throughout his time at Kingston.

Head coach Michael Schwartz expressed his enthusiasm about Cason joining the team, saying, “We are thrilled to announce Reid Cason as the newest addition to the Pirate family. He is an all-around student-athlete that understands the importance of work ethic both on the court and in the classroom.” At 6’10”, Cason is not only tall but also a skilled and versatile forward, capable of playing effectively in the post as well as on the perimeter. Schwartz believes he will seamlessly integrate into the team’s offensive and defensive strategies.

In addition to his impressive stats, Cason has also made a name for himself in tournament play. He was a three-time member of the New Year Classic All-Tournament Team and earned a spot on the Wampus Cat Classic All-Tournament Team twice.
