BREAKING: Edmonton Elks Sign Talented 26-year old Highly-rated Canadian OL, and one other

The Edmonton Elks have added Canadian offensive lineman  and American receiver to their practice roster.

Szott, a fourth-round pick in the 2020 CFL Draft, has previously played for the Ottawa Redblacks, Montreal Alouettes, Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Saskatchewan Roughriders, and Hamilton Tiger-Cats. He has participated in 24 games, making 14 starts.

The 26-year-old spent four seasons at McMaster University, where he appeared in 37 games for the Marauders.

Adams played the last two seasons at Syracuse University, where he recorded seven receptions for 186 yards and two touchdowns, as well as 16 punt returns for 119 yards and six kickoff returns for 93 yards. Before that, he spent two years at Florida Atlantic University, playing in 10 games. Earlier this year, he attended rookie minicamp with the Buffalo Bills.

The Elks have also released offensive lineman Jaxon Morkin from the practice roster, along with fullback Brad Hladik and offensive lineman Patrick Lavoie from the suspended list. All three Canadian players are expected to return to school for the U Sports season.

The Edmonton Elks (2-7) will face the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (2-7) on Saturday, Aug. 17, with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m. EDT.
