Cormani McClain criticism of Deion Sanders confirmed by Colorado football

The recent social media drama surrounding Colorado football confirms Cormani McClain’s criticisms of Buffs head coach Deion Sanders, as highlighted by Mike Farrell Sports’ Scott Salomon.

Salomon suggests that Coach Prime needs to expand his coaching approach beyond favoring certain players. McClain and another individual, Smith, have raised concerns about Sanders’ lack of compassion and his focus on specific players rather than the team as a whole. McClain’s comments echo Dan Lanning’s sentiment that playing for Colorado was more about publicity than victories.

McClain expressed a desire to join a program that prioritizes player development over superficial attention, emphasizing his wish to contribute to a successful and impactful team environment.

Cormani McClain’s decision to transfer from Colorado upset a significant portion of the Buffs’ locker room, including some of the team’s established leaders. After McClain’s debut was delayed due to off-field behavioral issues, Coach Deion Sanders eventually acknowledged that McClain had shown growth throughout the 2023 season.

However, there will not be a continued redemption story for McClain at Colorado, as he continues to search for a new program to join after his time with “Prime Time” has ended. So far, other schools have been hesitant to offer McClain the type of NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) deal that would secure his commitment to their program.
