Connecticut Huskies Confirms Unexpected Injury Development Involving UConn’s leading scorer Alex Karaban

So, here’s the scoop on Alex Karaban. He didn’t play in the game against Maryland Eastern Shore on Saturday, and that news came just about half an hour before the game kicked off. It’s a bit concerning because he suffered a head injury during the loss to Dayton in the Maui Invitational, and they had to take him to the hospital afterward.

The good news is that Karaban was cleared to fly back home and was seen at the arena on a stationary bike while the team warmed up. Coach Dan Hurley mentioned that it was just a mild concussion “Alex is pretty good,” coach Dan Hurley said. “It was a pretty mild concussion”, and they were super cautious with him, which is always the right call. He passed all his tests and is feeling better now.

Karaban is really important to the team, he’s the only returning starter from last year’s national championship squad and averages 15.9 points per game.

This was just the second game he’s missed in his entire three-season run with the Huskies. Fingers crossed he’s back on the court soon
