CONFIRMED: Portsmouth announce details of League One title celebrations on Southsea Common

Portsmouth Football Club has announced the details of their League One championship celebration, which will take place from 1pm to 4pm on Southsea Common this coming Sunday (April 28). The event will also serve as a celebration for the success of Pompey Women, who have won the National League Southern Premier Division.

During the 1pm to 4pm time slot, live entertainment will be provided. A large crowd is anticipated for the event. Instead of a parade, the players are expected to arrive directly at the event and take the stage around 2pm to showcase their trophies.

The organization of the event is facilitated by Portsmouth City Council, and fans are encouraged to utilize public transportation and walking to reach the common. Food will be available for purchase, but barbecues are prohibited. A wheelchair-accessible platform will be constructed for those with accessibility needs.

Andrew Cullen, the chief executive of Portsmouth, expressed his anticipation for a significant turnout at Southsea Common for what promises to be a memorable afternoon. This event offers a great chance to commemorate the remarkable season enjoyed by both the men’s and women’s teams.

Furthermore, this occasion serves as an opportunity to express gratitude to the exceptional fans for their tremendous support towards our players and the entire team. We are deeply appreciative of the assistance from Portsmouth City Council, the police, and the emergency services in facilitating this event.
