The Indianapolis Colts must adopt a more assertive approach in the upcoming NFL Draft to match Houston’s aggressive offseason moves aimed at Super Bowl contention. Failing to enhance the talent surrounding second-year QB Anthony Richardson could jeopardize their chances of securing an AFC South title in the near future, making the 2024 NFL Draft a critical opportunity for them.Currently holding seven draft picks, with their first at the 15th overall selection, the Colts have the chance to capitalize on the depth and talent of this year’s receiver class.
Even if the top wide receivers are off the board by their initial pick, they could target a playmaker like LSU’s Brian Thomas Jr. or a tight end such as Brock Bowers on the first day of the draft. Alternatively, they could prioritize a top cornerback with their first-round pick and address the pass-catching position in the second round, where they hold the 46th overall selection.
