Chiefs Talented QB Star says he will not endorse anybody for president

Patrick Mahomes Declines to Endorse Candidates, Focuses on Unity.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes made it clear on Wednesday that he will not be endorsing either Donald Trump or Kamala Harris in the upcoming presidential election.

“I don’t want my place and my platform to be used to endorse a candidate or do whatever, either way,” Mahomes said before heading out to practice for Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals. **”I think my place is to inform people to get registered to vote. It’s to inform people to do their own research and then make the best decision for them and their family.”**

Mahomes’ comments came less than a day after his teammate Travis Kelce’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift, endorsed Harris for president. This led to former president Trump saying in a Fox News interview that he “actually like[s] Mrs. Mahomes much better” and that she is “a big Trump fan.”

Trump had previously referenced Brittany Mahomes, Patrick’s wife, after she had liked and then unliked an Instagram post outlining the “2024 GOP platform.” Brittany Mahomes has since stayed out of the political spotlight, aside from responding to critics on social media.

Patrick Mahomes sidestepped a question about Trump’s references to his wife, instead emphasizing the importance of community involvement and bringing people together. **”You’ve seen my history. I’ve come up with people from every aspect of life, from every background,” he said. “If we can do that as a nation, we can get the best out of each other, so that’s something I do every single day.”**

The Chiefs quarterback’s focus on unity echoes the sentiments expressed by his friend Taylor Swift, who said she believes the country can “accomplish so much more” if led by “calm and not chaos.” Swift’s endorsement of Harris came after Trump’s campaign shared AI-generated images claiming to show Swift supporters backing him.

As the 2024 election cycle heats up, Patrick Mahomes is making it clear that he will not be using his platform to endorse any particular candidate. Instead, he is encouraging people to educate themselves and make their own informed decisions at the ballot box.
