Just in: Michigan’s running backs coach, Tony Alford, Annonuce the commitment top-notch Talented RB Michigan Wolverines

Archbishop Shaw’s three-star running back, has committed to playing for the Michigan Wolverines, as reported by On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

During his official visit to Ann Arbor, Parker made the decision to join the Wolverines instead of considering offers from Miami, Alabama, North Carolina, and Oklahoma State.

Michigan’s new running backs coach, Tony Alford, traveled to Louisiana in May to personally meet with Parker.

Describing the meeting with Alford, Parker stated that it was a positive experience. He shared that Alford emphasized the advantages of choosing Michigan and discussed various aspects such as team strategies, enrollment plans, and formed a closer bond with Parker.

Despite having communicated for only a couple of months, Parker highlighted the strong relationship he had begun to develop with Alford, portraying him not just as a coach but as a mentor and role model. Parker praised Alford’s respectful interactions with his family and others, indicating his character and wealth of experience.

According to the On3 Industry Ranking, which consolidates data from major recruiting sources, Parker is ranked as the 457th overall prospect nationally, the 37th running back prospect, and the 15th recruit from Louisiana in the 2025 recruiting class.

Two consecutive days see Michigan securing commitments

The commitment from Parker follows Michigan’s recent acquisition of four-star safety Kainoa Winston from Montgomery Village (Md.) Gonzaga. Winston had visited Ann Arbor officially over the weekend of May 31.

Reflecting on his visit, Winston expressed positive sentiments, mentioning that he enjoyed spending time with the players and coaches to form connections and nurtured relationships with them. He emphasized the authenticity of the people at Michigan and highlighted the strong work ethic prevalent within the program.

Winston also appreciated Michigan’s defensive strategies, particularly how they utilize their defensive backs and expressed confidence that his adaptability and skills would align well with the team’s defensive lineup.
