Breaking Now..Nabers Injury Update At MetLife Stadium

For the second time this season, the New York Giants leaned heavily on receiver Malik Nabers in their passing game, only for him to miss the final pass. Both fourth-down attempts were significant, resulting in losses and marking the only errors on Nabers’ otherwise stellar record. On Thursday night, his final target came after a concerning injury scare that had MetLife Stadium holding its breath. Nabers fell hard while trying to make a toe-tap catch, hitting his head on the turf without any support. After taking his time to get up, he eventually walked off the field and into the locker room. Before the game concluded, the Giants announced he had suffered a concussion. Head coach Brian Daboll confirmed this on Friday following the 20-15 loss, stating, “Yeah, with Malik he’s in concussion protocol. I don’t have any other updates for you.” Luckily for New York, the mini-bye from Thursday Night Football might help Nabers’ chances of playing in Week 5. The Giants will face the Seattle Seahawks on October 6, followed by a game against the Cincinnati Bengals. For now, they plan to take precautions and not rush his recovery. “We’ll take it day by day and see where he’s at,” Daboll mentioned. It’s crucial for the Giants to handle his recovery carefully, as head injuries are serious, and Nabers is vital to the team’s future. Without him, New York would face a challenging road ahead. He leads the team in targets (52), receptions (35), yards (386), and touchdowns (three), making him the offense’s standout player and quickly rising among the league’s stars.

If Nabers ends up missing some games, fellow receiver Wan’Dale Robinson may need to step up even more, as he ranks second on the team in those key receiving stats. Robinson shared his thoughts on Nabers’ situation on Friday, saying, “Yeah, we watched the game and stuff. I think he’s feeling alright. Obviously, we’re just going to take it day by day. Luckily, we’ve got a couple of extra days for rest, so I think that’ll be good for him.”
