BYU lands top international forward out of transfer portal
Less than 72 hours after BYU was bounced from the NCAA Tournament by Alabama, the portal season started to heat up in Provo. On Saturday, Washington transfer Dominique Diomande announced he would be joining Kevin Young and the Cougars, according to a report from On3’s Pete Nakos.

Diomande arrived in Seattle midway through the season but eventually took a redshirt after coming from France. The one-time projected NBA Draft pick will now continue his college journey at BYU. At 6-foot-8 and 200 pounds, Diomande has a lean frame with a massive wingspan.
He played in 26 games for ADA Blois of France-ProA U21 league, averaging 16 points, six rebounds, and two assists per game. As a ‘diamond in the rough’, Diomande will be in the rotation with five-star AJ Dybansta who is expected to be a one-and-done before chasing NBA dreams.
The addition will help add some depth to Young’s wings after losing Trevin Knell, Mawot Mag and Trey Stewart. BYU loses nephew of WNBA legend to transfer portal Expect BYU to land a few more players out of the portal in the coming weeks, especially on the heels of a Sweet 16 run.
NIL will play a factor for the Cougars, but won’t get outbid for any top-tier talent.
