It was highly likely that Ziyare Addison, a highly-regarded four-star offensive tackle recruit from Riverview, Florida, would opt to remain in his home state. Among his top choices were three Florida teams – the Florida State Seminoles, Miami Hurricanes, and Florida Gators – all vying to secure his commitment.
Despite the strong Florida connections, Addison surprised many by choosing to venture to the Northwest. The 6-foot-5, 290-pound rising senior revealed his decision to commit to the Oregon Ducks, led by Dan Lanning, on Monday morning.
Competing for Addison’s commitment were also Penn State, Georgia, and UCLA.
This move signals a significant development for Oregon. The Ducks are acquiring a sizable and dynamic offensive line prospect with impressive recruiting rankings. According to 247Sports, he holds the position as the 14th best offensive tackle in the 2025 class.
What truly distinguishes Addison is his exceptional athleticism, highlighted by his participation in wrestling and track at his high school. His diverse skills suggest he will offer valuable positional versatility for the Ducks in the future.
“Should be viewed as a potential multi-year starter at the Power Four level that can play multiple spots up front depending on how the body matures,” Andrew Irvins wrote in his scouting report on Addison.
The fact that Lanning and his staff were able to pull Addison out of the state of Florida will go down as a huge recruiting win for the Ducks.
