Breaking: Warriors are offseason favorites for several experts despite lacking another superstar

It appears that the Golden State Warriors are unlikely to make any significant roster changes this offseason, barring any unexpected developments. Following Klay Thompson’s exit, the team has brought in several experienced players to fill critical roles, including Buddy Hield, De’Anthony Melton, and Kyle Anderson. Despite attempts to trade for stars like Paul George and Lauri Markkanen, the Warriors were unable to secure a high-profile addition to complement Steph Curry and Draymond Green.

Given the Warriors’ struggles over the past two seasons, expectations for the 2024-25 season remain tempered without a major upgrade, especially with Thompson’s departure. However, some analysts and insiders express optimism about the team’s potential for improvement. According to Anthony Slater from The Athletic, team sources believe the Warriors made positive strides this summer, supported by internal analytics that favor the new additions. One rival’s metrics even ranked Golden State fourth in the conference, highlighting their competitive position after finishing with 46 wins last season, just five wins shy of the fifth-place Clippers.

Additionally, a recent poll of ESPN NBA experts indicated that the Warriors were among the teams expected to make a significant leap this season, receiving the third-highest points in the survey, trailing only the Spurs and Grizzlies. This suggests that many believe the Warriors are poised to rise in the league standings, despite their recent challenges.
