BREAKING: Veteran quarterback signs on with Montreal Alouettes

The Montreal Alouettes have signed veteran American quarterback as of Tuesday.

This decision follows the season-ending knee injury suffered by veteran backup Caleb Evans during Montreal’s 33-16 victory against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats last Friday.

Davis, who stands 6-foot-4 and weighs 215 pounds, is entering his ninth season in the CFL and is returning to Montreal after previously playing for the team in 2022, where he rushed for 13 touchdowns.

The 35-year-old quarterback spent last season with the B.C. Lions and has played in a total of 82 regular-season games for Winnipeg (2015-17), Ottawa (2018-19, 2021), Montreal, and B.C. He has completed 344 of 549 passes for 3,967 yards, recording 14 touchdowns and 21 interceptions.

Throughout his CFL career, Davis has also rushed for 30 touchdowns.
