Breaking Now: South Dakota adds four Super-Talents to 2025 recruiting class

South Dakota softball head coach Robert Wagner has announced the signing of four new student-athletes:

Charlotte Morgan | RHP / 1B | Parker, Colo. | Legend High School
Charlotte Morgan received the 2024 Continental League Pitcher of the Year award during her junior year at Legend High School. She was named to the Second Team All-Conference in both 2022 and 2023, and earned First Team honors in 2024. Additionally, Morgan was recognized as a First Team All-State performer and was selected as the Continental League Athlete of the Month in September 2024. Academically, she was honored as an Academic First Team All-State member in 2022, 2023, and 2024, and made the Honor Roll each of those years. The daughter of Josh and Melanie Morgan intends to major in sports marketing and media.

Sophia Bauman | Middle INF | Grimes, Iowa | Dallas Center Grimes
Sophia Bauman qualified for the 2023 Iowa Track & Field State Championships in the long jump and contributed to the Mustangs’ success in the 2023 4A Basketball State Championships. She received Academic Excellence awards in both Spring and Fall 2022 and was named to the All-Academic Teams for cross country and track & field in 2022-23, as well as the basketball All-Academic Team in 2023-24. Bauman has played for the Iowa Outlaws Select Andrews and Nebraska Gold 18u National teams. She is the daughter of Jake and Vicky Bauman and plans to major in dental hygiene.

Camryn Kersten | UTL | Camden Point, Mo. | North Platte R-1
Camryn Kersten has been recognized as a two-time First Team All-District and two-time Second Team All-District player from North Platte R-1. In 2024, she achieved All-District, All-Conference, and All-Region honors. Throughout her career, Kersten has recorded 12 home runs and 90 RBIs, and she has been named to the Academic All-State Team for four consecutive years (2021-2024). The daughter of Craig and Marilyn Kersten plans to study accounting at South Dakota.

Aubrey Lensmeyer | P / OF / 1B | Ankeny, Iowa | Ankeny High School
Aubrey Lensmeyer has earned three All-Conference honors during her time at Ankeny High School. As a junior, she was selected to the third team All-Conference after hitting nine home runs, driving in 30 RBIs, and striking out 115 batters as a pitcher. Lensmeyer is also a three-time recipient of the Academic Excellence Award and the Varsity Academic Achievement Award. The daughter of Ryan and Wendy Lensmeyer plans to major in nursing at South Dakota.

These four athletes will enroll and compete for South Dakota starting in the fall of 2025.
