BREAKING: Relief for Brentford as big signing finally remembers his job – Joy all round amid ‘fear and awe’

Brentford can now relax as their recent acquisition, striker Igor Thiago, has rediscovered his goal-scoring form.

The Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws reports on Club Brugge’s impressive performance in the play-offs, with a perfect record so far. Their latest victory, a 4-0 win over Genk, was marked by goals from Ferran Jutgla, Michal Skoras, Igor Thiago, and Maxim De Cuyper.

The paper also highlights the impact of Igor Thiago, who has rediscovered his goal-scoring form, much to the relief of his former club, Brentford. Thiago, currently on loan at Club Brugge from Brentford, has scored 26 goals in all competitions this season, making him a valuable asset for the Belgian club.

The third goal in Club Brugge’s 4-0 victory over Genk, scored by Igor Thiago, was particularly significant for Brentford, as it was the Brazilian’s first goal since his €37 million transfer to the English club in January.

Thiago’s goal not only helped to secure the win for Club Brugge but also marked a turning point for the striker, who had struggled to find the back of the net since his move to Brentford. The newspaper noted Thiago’s visible happiness after scoring, which was likely shared by Brentford, who have high hopes for the Brazilian as a potential replacement for Ivan Toney. Thiago’s goal may have eased some of the concerns at Brentford regarding their new striker’s lack of goals, allowing everyone to breathe a sigh of relief.
