Breaking: Purdue are candidates for induction into the College Football Hall of Fame

Two individuals associated with Purdue University are candidates for induction into the College Football Hall of Fame. One is a former standout player, while the other is a current coach.

A notable Purdue alumnus, considered one of the greatest players in the program’s history, has the chance to secure a spot in the Hall of Fame. This esteemed player is not alone in this opportunity, as another individual with ties to Purdue is also in consideration.

First up is Taylor Stubblefield, renowned as one of the most exceptional and productive wide receivers to have graced college football. While his on-field prowess is well-documented, for those unfamiliar or who may have forgotten his iconic moments, a video of one of his memorable plays has been provided for reference. Stubblefield made a significant impact during his time at Purdue, playing alongside the likes of Drew Brees under the coaching of Joe Tiller. Even to this day, he ranks 9th all-time in career receptions, with the current record held by Zay Jones from East Carolina.

Stubblefield’s eligibility for the College Football Hall of Fame stems from his recognition as a consensus All-American in 2004. However, his former teammate, the exceptional quarterback Drew Brees, is not eligible for induction into the Hall of Fame.

The other candidate is Graham Harrell, the current offensive coordinator at Purdue. Harrell had a remarkable career as a quarterback at Texas Tech before transitioning into coaching.

The final selection for the Class of 2025 for the College Football Hall of Fame will be announced in early 2025, with specific details regarding the announcement’s timing and location yet to be disclosed. Wishing the best of luck to these two esteemed figures from Purdue University.
