The Cleveland Guardians have signed former Houston Astros pitcher Parker Mushinski to a contract in the minor leagues.

Mushinski will turn 29 during the 2025 season. In 2024, while with Houston, he logged 11.0 innings, recording a 6.55 ERA and a -0.1 fWAR. The Steamer projections anticipate he will throw 26.0 innings in 2025, with an expected ERA of 4.14. Below is Statcast’s analysis of his pitches from April 2024.

Ben Lively has achieved Super 2 status and is eligible for arbitration. In 2024, he was the Guardians’ leader with 13 wins and a 3.81 ERA. According to an article from WKYC, he is projected to see his salary increase from the league minimum to $3.2 million in arbitration this offseason. Additionally, Guardians relief pitcher Allan Hernandez, who is currently in Low-A, will represent the organization in the Arizona Fall League Fall Stars Game.

Roki Sasaki will be officially posted by the Chiba Lotte Marines this offseason, marking another Japanese ace’s entry into the majors. Unfortunately, our favorite second baseman and left fielder did not win the Platinum Glove; Cal Raleigh took the honor in the American League, while Brice Turang won it for the National League. The Milwaukee Brewers and Toronto Blue Jays were awarded the team Gold Glove for their respective leagues.
