SEATTLE — On October 12th in Saint Paul, Minnesota, Jordan Eberle reached a significant milestone by scoring the 300th goal of his career.
“I’ve been in this league for a long time, and things happen quickly. Scoring like that makes you reflect a bit. I’ve been lucky to play alongside many teammates over the years, and I hope to keep finding the net,” Eberle shared. Eberle began his NHL journey with the Edmonton Oilers in 2010, where he spent seven seasons before joining the Islanders. Now in his 15th season, he feels he is playing some of the best hockey of his career. “My passion for the game is still immense; I love playing. I believe that as you get older, your desire to win increases.
While you maintain your speed, you also become smarter and constantly strive to improve,” Eberle explained. While scoring goals is important to him, being named team captain holds a special significance. “It’s a tremendous honor to be a captain in this league. It means a lot to me. When I was informed about the captaincy, I was somewhat speechless. I’ve played under many great leaders, and it’s a proud moment. I hope to help lead this team to the playoffs,” Eberle said.
Eberle emphasized that a crucial aspect of being captain is authenticity. “For me, the key is to stay true to myself. I don’t think much changes; I try to lead through my work ethic, my game preparation, and my performance on the ice. I’ll continue to do that and aim to elevate everything even further,” he noted.
