Breaking Now: Former Illini Player Invited To NBA Training Camp

Former Illini player is getting a chance to join an NBA roster.

On Friday, the Chicago Bulls announced that Domask has received an invite to training camp in October. Last year, he played a pivotal role in the Illini’s advancement to the Elite Eight in the NCAA Tournament, where they lost to the eventual champion, UConn.

Domask had an impressive season, averaging 15.9 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.9 assists during his time in Champaign, making 38 starts.

Media personality Taylor Rooks is excited to engage in playful trash talk about her alma mater, the Fighting Illini.

Rooks, who attended Illinois from 2010-2014, is enjoying the team’s 4-0 start this season, with their next game against No. 9 Penn State on Saturday.

While working on Thursday’s broadcast for the Dallas Cowboys-New York Giants game, Rooks boasted about the Illini to her friend Amani Oruwariye, a former Penn State player and current defensive back for the Cowboys.

“It’s so much fun,” Rooks said. “When your team is performing well, it boosts your confidence when discussing the program. Just the other day at our Thursday night football game, I saw Amani and immediately exclaimed, ‘ILL.’”

Despite her busy schedule, Rooks mentioned she has attended a few Illini games recently and may attend more if the team keeps winning.

“I actually feel like we have a chance,” Rooks stated. “With a strong offense, my faith in our quarterback, and a solid defense, under coach Bielema, it really elevates your spirits and enhances the joy of trash-talking.”
