Breaking now: Five-Star ’25 Forward Nate Ament, coach Pat Kelsey, Reviled

LOUISVILLE, – Another top Class of 2025 prospect is scheduled to visit the Louisville men’s basketball program soon. Nate Ament, a forward from Warrenton (Va.) Highland School and one of the leading players in his class, will make an official visit to the Cardinals on Friday, October 11, as reported by Adam Zagoria from Forbes. Ament, a consensus five-star recruit, was among the first high school athletes to receive a scholarship offer from new head coach Pat Kelsey, who extended the offer on April 23, just weeks after taking the position. Standing 6-foot-9 and weighing 185 pounds, Ament is ranked as high as the No. 3 prospect by On3 and is classified as the No. 4 recruit overall by the 247Sports Composite.

All four major recruiting services have him as a consensus top-five prospect. During his junior year at Highland School, Ament had an impressive season, averaging 19.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, 4.0 blocks, and 3.7 assists per game, leading the Hawks to a 24-12 record and a spot in the VISAA Division II State Championship game. Ament is one of several elite prospects who have visited Louisville recently.

Last weekend, the top 2026 prospect, Tyran Stokes, was in town for Louisville Live, while five-star 2025 recruit Shelton Henderson and four-star 2025 prospects J.J. Mandaquit and Tre Singleton have also taken official visits. To date, Louisville has extended scholarship offers to 27 prospects in the Class of 2025, including 19 who remain uncommitted, but they have not yet secured any commitments.
