Breaking Now: Browns Trade Veteran WR Amari Cooper to Bills for Draft Picks

Browns Trade Amari Cooper to Bills for Draft Picks

The Cleveland Browns have traded veteran wide receiver Amari Cooper along with a sixth-round pick in the 2025 NFL draft to the Buffalo Bills. In return, the Browns received a 2025 third-round pick and a 2026 seventh-round pick, as reported by Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com.

The Bills have been seeking reliable pass catchers after the offseason departures of Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans and Gabe Davis to the Jacksonville Jaguars. With Cooper, Buffalo acquires a proven No. 1 target who, at 30 years old, still shows he has plenty of potential. This season, despite a challenging offensive situation with a struggling Deshaun Watson as quarterback, Cooper has caught 24 passes for 250 yards and two touchdowns.

Fans in Buffalo are optimistic that Cooper’s performance will improve with Josh Allen throwing him passes. Last season, Cooper recorded 72 receptions, 1,250 yards, and five touchdowns, marking the seventh 1,000-plus-yard season of his career despite the Browns’ quarterback struggles. The Bills currently hold a 4-2 record following their 23-20 win over the Jets on Monday night. Both the Bills and the New York Jets made significant wide receiver trades shortly after this matchup, with the Jets acquiring Davante Adams from the Las Vegas Raiders.
