BREAKING: North Carolina three-time All-Atlantic Coast Conference honoree commits to rival team

North Carolina transfer Deja Kelly revealed her decision to commit to Oregon on Monday.

The 5-foot-8 guard, a three-time All-Atlantic Coast Conference honoree during her four seasons as a starter with the Tar Heels, shared a post on X with the caption “New Throne,” featuring an image of her seated on a throne adorned with a crown and wearing a Ducks uniform. In the 2023-24 season, Kelly averaged 16.3 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.4 steals in 33 starts.

Throughout her time at UNC, spanning 121 games with 120 starts, the Texas native maintained averages of 15.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.2 steals. Ducks coach Kelly Graves has been actively recruiting from the transfer portal, securing commitments from Amina Muhammad (Texas), Salimatou Kourouma (Arizona), Ari Long (Washington), Nani Falatea (BYU), Alex Whitfield (UC Santa Barbara), and Elisa Mevius (Siena).
