BREAKING: Eagles ink a deal with Another Brilliant WR star from the Giants

The Eagles have secured another speedy and skilled player for their wide receiver group as Parris Campbell signs a one-year contract with Philadelphia, according to a report.

Howie Roseman and the management team had shown interest in selecting Campbell in the 2019 draft, but eventually chose J.J. Arcega-Whiteside reportedly after Jeffrey Lurie stepped in. Campbell was subsequently drafted by the Colts and spent two years under then-offensive coordinator Nick Sirianni.

Early in his career, the wide receiver grappled with injuries, experiencing three setbacks (abdominal strain, fractured right hand, foot fracture) in his debut season, leading him to miss a total of 9 games. Following a sprained MCL/PCL in Week 2 of the 2020 season, he was sidelined for most of the year and additionally faced an abdominal sprain and foot sprain that forced him to miss 10 games in 2021.

However, in 2022, he finally regained full fitness and participated in a complete 17-game season with the Colts, concluding the campaign with 63 receptions for 623 yards, scoring 3 touchdowns and contributing to 32 first downs. Despite his improved performance, it was not sufficient to secure a new contract with Indianapolis, prompting Campbell to join the Giants in 2023 during free agency.

he wide receiver appeared in 12 games for the Giants, starting only three of them, and managed 20 receptions for 104 yards without scoring any touchdowns. Campbell was designated as a healthy inactive player in Week 14 and subsequently did not see any further game time with the Giants.

Now, he is entering a setup in Philadelphia alongside A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, and DeVante Parker, alongside a group of young first and second-year players. The acquisition of Campbell might imply that Quez Watkins and Olamide Zaccheaus are not part of the Eagles’ strategies for 2024.

Campbell was highly touted when he entered the league from Ohio State in 2019, but despite being selected in the second round, he has struggled to elevate his performance. It is hoped that in Philadelphia, he can remain injury-free, progress in his skills, and make valuable contributions on both special teams and offense.
