BREAKING: Blue Jackets changes stance about trading experienced fourth pick to the Flyers
The NHL draft is less than 24 hours away, and although no decisions have been made, we have promising leads on the teams’ picks before the Montreal Canadiens.
It seems the Sharks are leaning towards selecting Macklin Celebrini, while the Hawks appear set to choose Artyom Levshunov, having already made their selection.
The potential picks for the Ducks and the Blue Jackets are more uncertain, but there are indications that Ivan Demidov may find his way to Montreal, although this is not certain.
Per TSN, it is believed that the Philadelphia Flyers made an aggressive pitch to the Columbus Blue Jackets. #CBJ reportedly said no.
To Flyers: 4th overall pick.
To #CBJ: 12th overall pick, a roster player, 2025 first rounder.

However, if the top 4 teams show little interest in drafting the Russian player, alternative options such as a trade could come into play. This was the approach the Flyers attempted to take when they offered a trade to Columbus for the fourth overall pick, which was declined.
The Flyers’ interest in Demidov is evident, and it appears that he is desired by the team. The possibility of a Demidov-Michkov partnership seems particularly exciting.
If Philadelphia believes they can secure the Russian player in the fourth spot, it could be positive news for the Habs, who also have their sights set on the KHL/MHL player.
