At 19 years old, McConnell-Barker is currently in his third and final season of junior hockey, expected to transition to the Wolf Pack next season. Serving as the captain of the Greyhounds, he delivered a solid performance in the regular season, tallying 51 points (22 goals, 29 assists) in 52 games, and is now leading the team’s push in the playoffs.

In a recent game on Wednesday, with Soo trailing 2-1 in their second-round playoff series against the Saginaw Spirit, McConnell-Barker played a key role by scoring two goals and providing an assist in a 4-0 victory. This standout performance has elevated him to the top 10 in OHL playoff scoring, with 12 points (4 goals, 8 assists) in eight games.

In March of last year, the Rangers signed McConnell-Barker to a three-year entry-level contract worth $870,000 annually. Although he joined the Wolf Pack for their 2023 Calder Cup campaign, he did not see any game time.
