BREAKING NEWS: Player picks Nottingham Forest over West Ham – Will sign a five-year deal with Reds

Nottingham Forest reportedly beat West Ham United in the competition to secure the signing of Carlos Miguel.

As per UOL reporter Bruno Andrade, Liverpool is set to secure the services of the Corinthians goalkeeper with a five-year deal.

Although Nottingham Forest and West Ham were interested in activating the player’s €4m release clause, the final choice rested with the player.

Andrade highlights the uncertainty of whether Carlos Miguel will continue representing Corinthians until July, when the transfer window opens, or if he will finalize the transfer immediately.

There is currently a sense of frustration within the Brazilian club due to the timing of this transfer. For a long time, Corinthians relied on their iconic goalkeeper, Cássio.

However, with him recently making some errors, both fans and the club deemed it suitable for Carlos Miguel to step in. After Carlos Miguel seized the opportunity and secured his spot, Cássio was transferred to Cruzeiro.

Subsequently, Carlos Miguel has now chosen to depart as well, intensifying the disappointment within the club.

The €4m release clause was set when Carlos Miguel was still a substitute player with limited chances to replace a club legend. Nottingham Forest has now capitalized on this intricate situation.
