BREAKING NEWS: Hull FC has signed a talented star for 2025

Hull FC has secured the services of John Asiata from Leigh Leopards for the 2025 Betfred Super League season. Asiata, a powerful forward, has signed a three-year contract with the Black and Whites, committing to the team through the 2027 season.

Having previously played for the North Queensland Cowboys and Brisbane Broncos, the 31-year-old forward boasts a wealth of experience with over 130 NRL appearances. Since joining Leigh Leopards in 2022, he has further honed his skills in the English game, accumulating over 60 appearances with the team.

Asiata’s professional journey began a decade ago with his debut for the North Queensland Cowboys in 2014. The versatile forward enjoyed success with the Cowboys, including a memorable NRL Grand Final victory over the Brisbane Broncos in 2015. He continued to make significant contributions to the Cowboys, aiding in victories like the 2016 World Club Challenge against Leeds Rhinos and another NRL Grand Final appearance in 2017.

Following a stint with the Brisbane Broncos in 2021, Asiata ventured to England to assist Leigh Leopards in their quest for promotion, culminating in a successful return to the Super League. His leadership qualities were evident as he captained the team to a remarkable 5th place finish and a Challenge Cup triumph in 2023.

Recognized as Leigh’s Players’ Player of the Season in 2023 and a member of the Super League Dream Team, Asiata has been a pivotal figure in the Leopards’ lineup. His signing with Hull FC for the 2025 Betfred Super League season marks a significant addition for the Black and Whites, bringing a blend of experience, leadership, and skill with over 200 career appearances.

In his statement to hullfc.com, Asiata expressed his enthusiasm for the new challenge at Hull FC and his alignment with the club’s ambitions for success. Hull FC Director of Rugby Richie Myler praised Asiata’s character, leadership qualities, and the positive impact he is expected to have on the club’s future trajectory.
