BREAKING NEWS: Hornets hire another top executive away from Brooklyn Nets

Hornets recruiting another executive from the Nets

Following the appointment of Jeff Peterson, former assistant GM of the Nets, as the new head of basketball operations for the Hornets, reports from Brian Lewis of The New York Post indicate that the Hornets are set to bring in another executive from the Nets’ front office.

Ryan Gisriel, who currently serves as the Nets’ executive director of basketball and business operations, is expected to depart from his role in Brooklyn to join the Hornets’ front office under Peterson’s leadership. Gisriel’s specific title in Charlotte has not been confirmed yet.

Gisriel first joined the Nets as an intern in 2013 and has steadily advanced within the organization, holding various positions such as special projects coordinator, assistant to the GM, and director of basketball administration before his current promotion.

According to NetsDaily, Gisriel’s previous position at the Nets symbolized his extensive involvement as a liaison between the basketball operations and business aspects of the team.

Gisriel is the second executive set to accompany Peterson in Charlotte. Additionally, the Hornets are reportedly bringing on Dotun Akinwale Jr. from the Hawks to serve as an assistant GM.
