The position of goalkeeper comes first. It is not ideal to start the season without signing a new number one. We could argue that for the entire preseason training camp, we need to have the man we want as the shot stopper.

It takes time and effort to develop a bond between a goalkeeper and his defense. By the time the competitive action begins at the beginning of August, everyone must be caught up.

Deals are known to be negotiated behind closed doors. In an interview with the media last week at Lennoxtown, John Kennedy made that very apparent.

We also know that talks between Sparta Prague and Celtic regarding goalkeeper Peter Vindahl Jensen are still going on, despite the paucity of updates.

According to Football Scotland, conversations are still ongoing regarding a possible deal, and Jensen is still Celtic’s “number one target” for the role. According to earlier reports, the Bhoys would have to pay more than £4 million to sign their man.

The Dane, who was just signed by Sparta Prague, is coming off a successful season in which he and Celtic both won a league and cup double.

In a perfect world, during the course of the next week, we would learn of noteworthy advancements in goalkeeping. Although we are aware that the transfer market can be difficult, the Bhoys have the financial means to easily acquire Brendan Rodgers’ top pick.

Nobody wants the summer transfer window to linger into 2023-like epic proportions.
