BREAKING: New Mock Draft Has Colorado Quarterback Shedeur Sanders As The New Face Of The Raiders

 2025 NFL Draft Outlook

Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado

With the 2024 NFL Draft now in the rearview, draft experts are already turning their attention to the 2025 class. One of the highest-profile prospects is Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders, the son of Colorado head coach Deion Sanders.

Shedeur Sanders has generated significant buzz as a potential top pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. As the son of the legendary “Prime Time” Deion Sanders, Shedeur has NFL pedigree and has shown impressive talent on the field during his time at Colorado.

Scouts are intrigued by Shedeur’s combination of size, arm strength, and mobility. At 6’2″ and 215 lbs, he has the physical tools to succeed at the next level. His ability to make accurate throws from the pocket as well as use his athleticism to extend plays and make plays with his legs has drawn comparisons to some of the league’s top young quarterbacks.

As the 2025 draft cycle heats up, Shedeur Sanders will undoubtedly be one of the most closely watched prospects. His family name and the expectations that come with it will only add to the spotlight. But if he can continue to develop and showcase his skills, Shedeur has the potential to be a high first-round pick and potentially the first quarterback selected in the 2025 NFL Draft.

 Shedeur Sanders’ Draft Prospects

Shedeur Sanders, a senior quarterback from Colorado, is considered a top prospect for the upcoming NFL Draft, despite his team’s disappointing 4-8 record last season. Despite facing significant challenges due to a struggling offensive line, Sanders demonstrated impressive skills, throwing for 3,270 yards and 27 touchdowns while only intercepting the ball three times.

Polarizing Factors and Early 2025 NFL Mock Draft

While Shedeur Sanders is widely viewed as a high first-round prospect, he is also expected to be a polarizing player leading up to the 2025 NFL Draft. This is due to a combination of on-field and off-field factors.

On the field, some concerns have been raised about Sanders’ arm strength and the fact that his Colorado team struggled to a 4-8 record last season. Off the field, there have been questions about the “antics” surrounding the Colorado program, which could lead some to doubt the team’s focus on winning.

Given that the 2025 NFL Draft is still a full year away, many consider early mock drafts to be somewhat speculative. However, ESPN’s Jordan Reid has already released a 2025 mock draft that has the Las Vegas Raiders trading up to the 5th overall pick to select Shedeur Sanders.

This projection suggests that the Raiders may be aggressive in their pursuit of a long-term solution at quarterback, potentially moving up to ensure they can land Sanders. With weapons like Davante Adams, Jakobi Meyers, and Brock Bowser already in place, the Raiders could provide an ideal supporting cast for a young quarterback like Sanders to develop and thrive.

By the time the Raiders made their selection at No. 13 last week, six quarterbacks had already been chosen. This situation may prompt Las Vegas to consider addressing the quarterback position in the following year instead. To avoid the risk of missing out on their preferred player, the team is likely to adopt a more aggressive approach in 2025, potentially involving a trade-up. It is believed that Gardner Minshew and Aidan O’Connell are unlikely to serve as long-term solutions for the team.
