BREAKING: Mookie Betts expected to make move amid injury return.

Along with being a consistent producer, Betts also shows a lot of leadership in the clubhouse. His fractured hand has kept him out of commission until at least August. When Betts returns in the late summer, Los Angeles is hoping he can inject some fresh vigor into the team’s offensive. After finishing the regular season with a 55-35 overall record, the team leads the National League West.

Prior to his injury in June, Betts was enjoying a successful season in Los Angeles. This season, he is batting.306, with 40 RBIs and 10 home homers. With his output and Shohei Ohtani’s complementary play, the Dodgers had one of the finest offensive combinations in the National League. The tandem’s reunion is something that team supporters are eagerly anticipating.

Among the team’s more seasoned players is Betts. In his playing career, he has appeared at the plate more than 5,000 times for the Boston Red Sox and Dodgers. The versatile athlete has a lifetime warranty and can play both infield and outfield.796 runs batted in with a 295 batting average.

The good news for the Dodgers is that in recent weeks, they haven’t needed Betts as much. Miguel Rojas has played well at shortstop, much to the team’s satisfaction. According to USA Today, Rojas has not made a mistake at shortstop this season.

As of Sunday, he was also batting at a.282 average. Rojas will be left in that position, while Betts will either be used in the outfield or returned to second base. The veteran’s ability to play and perform well at so many various positions is a true blessing. The fact that Betts is just as skilled on defense as he is on offense is another plus.

Like everyone else, Los Angeles is under a great deal of pressure to advance to the World Series this year. This past offseason, the Dodgers committed to spending over $1 billion on Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Shohei Ohtani. It would be seen as a failure for the team to miss out on a World Series win with that kind of money going out the door. Like Betts, Yamamoto has experienced pain. The prospect of having these players return from the injured list in time for a postseason run has Dodgers supporters salivating.

In a game featuring two of the greatest teams in the National League, the Dodgers take on the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday. At 4:10 p.m. ET, the action begins. Betts will undoubtedly be rooting for his side from a distance.
