Breaking: Miami Hurricanes Announce Carson Beck Big News Tuesday Afternoon

Miami Hurricanes quarterback Carson Beck has been named to the 2025 Walter Camp Player of the Year Award Watch List, as announced by the Walter Camp Football Foundation earlier
A transfer from the University of Georgia, Beck enters his first season with Miami after a standout run with the Bulldogs. In 2024, he threw for over 3,400 yards and 28 touchdowns while completing more than 64% of his passes, playing a key role in Georgia’s run to the SEC Championship Game.
Miami Players Earning National Recognition
Beck is one of five Hurricanes named to national preseason award watch lists. Others include:
-
Rueben Bain – Bronko Nagurski Trophy
-
Anez Cooper & Francis Mauigoa – Outland Trophy
-
Francis Mauigoa – Wuerffel Trophy
-
Wesley Bissainthe – Butkus Award
The Walter Camp Award is among the most prestigious honors in college football, presented annually to the nation’s top player as voted on by FBS head coaches and sports information directors.
As fall camp begins, Carson Beck’s presence is already being felt in Coral Gables. Fully recovered from a previous injury, Beck is showing off his arm strength and command of the offense, impressing teammates and coaches alike.
Wide receiver Ray Ray Joseph, who trained last season with Miami legend Cam Ward, praised Beck’s leadership and impact on the team:
“Having a guy like Carson Beck around—it’s honestly an advantage. Not every program gets a quarterback like that. He’s not just about himself; he helps everyone improve and succeed. That’s rare, and it means a lot to this team.”
With Beck leading the way, the Hurricanes are entering the 2025 season with renewed optimism and high expectations.
