BREAKING: “Massive Boost” South Alabama Jaguars Major Applewhite Announce Major Commitment

Kane Wommack and the South Alabama Jaguars have bolstered their 2024 signing class by adding Oklahoma transfer cornerback

Webb, a 2022 All-American cornerback, was a two-time All-MACCC selection in 2021 and 2022 while at Jones County Junior College in Mississippi.

According to his Oklahoma State bio, Webb recorded 28 tackles, four tackles for loss, six pass breakups, and six interceptions in his sophomore year, tying for the national lead in picks. In 2021, he had 29 tackles, three tackles for loss, a team-high nine pass breakups, and three interceptions, ranking 12th in the NJCAA for pass breakups. Notably, he returned an interception 75 yards for a touchdown against Hinds and achieved a season-high six tackles, two tackles for loss, and three pass breakups against Northwest. Additionally, he returned 17 punts, averaging an impressive 12.1 yards per return, including a 62-yard touchdown return against Northeast, and earned Academic All-MACCC honors.

The Jaguars were involved in his recruitment last spring, but Webb ultimately chose Oklahoma State over offers from South Alabama, Mississippi State, Virginia Tech, Kansas, Washington State, and more.

He is expected to have two years of eligibility remaining at South Alabama.
