Previous…

Liberty has secured its fourth commitment today, with this one being from Nik Alston. Alston, a three-star defensive line prospect, hails from Thompson High School in Birmingham, Alabama and stands at 6’3″ and 260 pounds.

He has received offers from a variety of schools including Liberty, Washington, NC State, Georgia Tech, Minnesota, Georgia Southern, Tulane, and others.

Alston’s commitment marks the fourth for Liberty’s Class of 2025, with all commitments having taken place on Sunday following a weekend visit. During the weekend, Liberty hosted 14 official visitors for the inaugural official visits weekend for the class of 2025. Alston now joins QB Ethan Houck, DE Jeff Hairston, and S Davion Dean as the initial commits in the class for Liberty.

Liberty Flames Lose Defensive Line Prospect Nik Alston as He Decommits

In a surprising turn of events, three-star defensive line prospect Nik Alston has decommitted from Liberty University. This news comes after a flurry of commitments from the Flames, including 2025 OL Brandon Edozie, which suggests that the team’s recruiting momentum may have been disrupted by Alston’s decision.

Alston, a 6’3″ and 260-pound defensive line prospect, had initially committed to Liberty but has now decided to explore other options. This move marks the fourth commitment of the day for Liberty, which may indicate that the team is trying to fill the void left by Alston’s departure.

The decommitment was first reported by A Sea of Red, a Liberty Flames fan site, which cited sources confirming the news. Nikolas Alston, the official Twitter handle of the defensive line prospect, also posted about his decision to decommit from Liberty.

As Liberty continues to build its roster for the upcoming season, the loss of Alston may be a significant blow. The defensive line is a crucial position in football, and the Flames will need to find a suitable replacement to fill the gap left by Alston’s departure.

For now, it remains to be seen which program Alston will ultimately choose to join. Fans of Liberty and other college football teams will be keeping a close eye on this developing story as it unfolds.
