Breaking: K-State Inks Transfer of outstanding Cornerback from FBS
On Tuesday, Kansas State made its fourth FBS transfer acquisition of the spring by securing cornerback Jordan Dunbar through a Financial Aid Agreement.
Dunbar transitions to K-State after a four-year stint at Rice, where he redshirted the 2023 season and retains two more years of eligibility. This spring’s transfer window class also includes running back Dylan Edwards (Colorado), linebacker Alec Marenco (New Mexico), and quarterback Ta’Quan Roberson (Connecticut).
Hailing from Tarrytown, New York, Dunbar played in 25 games with 21 starts across three seasons at Rice. In 2020, he participated in one game before making nine starts out of 12 games in 2021, earning All-Freshman C-USA recognition. Subsequently, he secured All-Conference USA Honorable Mention honors after starting all 12 games in 2022, where he ranked ninth in C-USA with 10 pass breakups.
In the 2023 season, Kansas State concluded with a 9-4 record, including a victory over No. 18 NC State in the Pop-Tarts Bowl, finishing 18th in the AP Top 25, 19th in the AFCA Coaches Poll, and 25th in the College Football Playoff Top 25. The Wildcats boast a streak of three seasons with at least eight wins, standing as the sole Big 12 team and one of eleven Power 4 squads with this achievement.
The 2024 campaign commences for K-State with a home game against UT Martin at Bill Snyder Family Stadium on August 31, followed by an away game against Tulane on September 7 and a non-conference matchup against Arizona on Friday, September 13.
