“I appreciate the unwavering trust shown by the Jaguars organization in renewing my contract. From being a first-round pick to present, their belief in my abilities and contributions has been evident. I am committed to honoring their investment and striving for a championship in Jacksonville. Special thanks to my wife, Kaitlyn, and children Wesley, Julian, and Vanessa for their unwavering support. Leaving a lasting legacy wherever I go has always been my ambition, and I am proud to continue that journey in Duval.
Allen, who was chosen by Jacksonville as the 7th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, made an impressive rookie debut by setting a franchise record with 10.5 sacks in his first season. His notable performance earned him a spot in the Pro Bowl, accompanied by 44 total tackles, 23 quarterback hits, and two forced fumbles.
In the 2023 season, Allen showcased his prowess on the field with 66 tackles (43 solo), 17.5 sacks, 33 quarterback hits, two forced fumbles, and one interception across 17 games (all as a starter). His 17.5 sacks surpassed the previous franchise record of 14.5 sacks set by DL Calais Campbell in 2017. Allen’s exceptional season included becoming only the second player since 1982 to achieve at least 2.5 sacks in four different games in a single season, a feat shared with Pro Football Hall of Fame member Lawrence Taylor. His 17.5 sacks secured him a tied second place in the NFL rankings. This remarkable performance led to Allen’s second Pro Bowl selection in his career.
Hailing from Montclair, New Jersey, Josh Allen has accumulated 252 total tackles (163 solo), 103 quarterback hits, 53 tackles for loss, and 45.0 sacks throughout his five-year professional career, encompassing 74 games played with 60 starts. Since entering the league in 2019, Allen is among a select group of six players in the AFC with at least 45.0 sacks to their name. His impressive tally of 45.0 sacks places him second in franchise history, trailing only Tony Brackens in the record books.
